Man Utd vs Stoke: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score

So after a tough weekend away at Anfield,  Fergie’s men are now preparing for the battle ahead as they host Stoke City at Old Trafford.

Notice i said “battle” because that’s exactly what Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes he and his side have awaiting them tonight. Stoke are the kind of team to go out on to the pitch and give it their best each and every game, and Fergie insists that Tony Pulis’ teams are always the same with 100% commitment.

With United losing to Liverpool in the F.A cup 4th round on Saturday, Pulis reckons his side are going to be met with a backlash from the United squad, who will be doing all they can to keep the pressure on rivals and league leaders Man City.

“They may have injury problems, but they’ve got incredible strength in depth. That’s why they’re the current champions and I am sure that whatever side Sir Alex sends out, it will still be one full of outstanding quality”  Tony Pulis told the clubs official website.

Team News

Manchester United will leave it late to decide on the fitness of Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney, but both may just miss out this time. Phil Jones, Ashley Young and Nani are also sidelined, while Sir Alex Ferguson will be without long-term injury concerns Nemanja Vidic, Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley, and Michael Owen.

Tony Pulis has virtually a fully fit squad to choose from, the only slight concern is winger Matt Etherington who has a groin complaint but should be fit.

Predicted Score

Looking at both teams current form and the injuries Fergie has to deal with, it’s going to be a tough game for United. But i can’t really see beyond a narrow home win.  1-0 to United.

Im a city fan at heart but I do believe man united rely on scholes wayy too much, i think the likes of jonny evans should be moved to a more advanced role on the pitch as his passing ability is out of this world. His eye for goal is next to nothing and his accuracy in his shots and passing is next level.
