Tottenham welcome high-flying Newcastle United to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon with Harry Redknapp returning to the dug out after missing last weeks draw at Anfield.

Redknapp is currently the bookies favourite to replace Fabio Capello as England manager but the 64-year-old has insisted his only focus is Tottenham and he will no doubt get a rousing reception at the Lane tomorrow from the home fans.

Newcastle are currently sitting in fifth place in the league and will be a stern test for Spurs, who themselves desperately require three points to keep pace the both Manchester clubs in the title race.

Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe are both back in contention after recovering from hamstring injuries, while Jounes Kaboul faces a late fitness test.

Rafael Van der Vaart misses out after failing to recover from a calf problem and joins Sandro, Gallas and Huddlestone on the sidelines.

Alan Pardew has his problems for the game with seven players unavailable. Best, S. Taylor, R. Taylor, Marveaux and S. Ameobi are all injured, Cabaye completes a three-game ban while Tiote is still at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.

However, Newcastle are likely to play Senegalese pair Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse up front after both got on the scoresheet last week against Aston Villa.
