[Video Highlights] Arsenal 2-1 Newcastle: Last Gasp Vermaelen Piles Pressure On Spurs

By  Published: 12th March 2012

Arsenal came from 1-0 down to beat Newcastle 2-1 at the Emirates and close to within one point of third-placed Tottenham.

Newcastle took the lead when Thomas Vermaelen gave away possession at the back, Hatem Ben Arfa collected the ball before cutting inside past Gibbs to fire a fierce low shot past Szczesny at his front post. However, the Gunners hit back within seconds of the restart, Theo Walcott finding Robin van Persie in the box, the Dutchman cooly finishing past Krul.

Arsenal then made history by becoming the first Premier League side to come from behind to win four games in a row as Thomas Vermaelen slotted home in the dying seconds to win it. Watch video highlights here:

Great result! Rosicky was excellent, if he scored that goal that would have topped off his performance. I hope he can stay injury free and keep his form because at the moment hes on fire!! Only hope walcott can play like this week in week out…anyway 3rd spot here we come!!
