Arsene Wenger has said the club will make an announcement on the Arsenal goalkeeping situation after the World Cup. All Arsenal fans know of the high-profile and costly errors both Almunia and Fabianski made last season and it is widely expected that Wenger will bring in a new No.1 this summer.

The likes of Lloris, Green, Schwarzer, Enyeama, and Buffon to name a few have all been linked with with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks. But when speaking to Kenyan based newspaper The Standard, Wenger spoke about Almunia’s nerves in big matches leading to mistakes and said he would be making an announcement on the goalkeeping situation once the World Cup is over.

“Manuel Almunia Rivero is a talented goalkeeper. In training, he is superb, the only problem is that he gets nervous on big matches, thereby making silly mistakes.

“After the World Cup, we will be making an announcement on goalkeeping.”

Let’s just hope the announcement includes the unveiling of a reliable and experienced new goalkeeper! If Arsene decides to stick with dumb and dumber next year i might just kill myself.
