Manchester City are preparing an audacious £20m bid for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, according to The Sun. Roberto Mancini has been a long-term admirer of the Ivorian hitman and is keen to add to his strike-force despite having Carlos Tevez, Emmanuelle Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamay and Robinho at his disposal.

City are willing to offer Drogba a three-year deal worth £18m and The Sun claim to have a ‘source’ who says the 32-year-old may consider City’s offer due to his age;

“Chelsea will have to decide whether they want him to stay. City’s offer will be tempting considering Didier’s age.”

Drogba was the premier league’s top scorer last season winning the Golden Boot with 29 goals helping Chelsea to a league and FA Cup double. He has 2 years left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge but if Carlo Ancelotti does decide now is the time to cash-in on Drogba then they would up their pursuit of Liverpool’s Fernando Torres.

    Anyone who believe’s that this could actually happen really is a fool for the hook, line & sinker approach to the daily rags.

    They’re obviously frustrated at the lack of movement in the transfer market so now they’re going from the randomly speculative to the absolutely ridiculous in the hope that people will hang in until at least one of their 400 daily predictions comes through.

    Hey you excuses for writers, journalists and editors… listen up. We.Are.Not.All.That.Stupid
