Transfer News: Trio Linked With £16m Brazilian Playmaker

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been alerted to the news that Lazio are ready to sell Brazilian midfielder Hernanes, according to the Daily Mail.

As we enter the final few weeks of another pulsating Premier League season, managers are beginning to prepare their summer moves in the transfer market and today we have some transfer gossip for you.

Hernanes - Premier League interest

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been alerted to the news that Lazio are ready to sell Brazilian midfielder Hernanes, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that the Premier League trio have all sent scouts to watch Hernanes this season and have been suitably impressed by what they’ve seen.

The 26-year-old joined Lazio from Sao Paulo in 2010 for £11.2m and has been hugely impressive, scoring 17 goals in 56 appearances so far  in Serie A.

However, the Mail believe that manager Edy Reja is prepared to cash in on the playmaker as he feels he is too similar to Italian international Stefano Mauri, and is willing to do business if a bid of at least £16m comes in.

Hernanes is a versatile midfielder who is usually deployed in an advanced central role, but is equally adept at playing in a deeper position.

Is there anything in this rumour? Or is it just another fact-less piece of transfer gossip? It’s hard to say. Hernanes is no doubt a talent, but he’s likely to one of a long list of names being considered by Wenger, Redknapp and Dalglish.

It’s one worth keeping an eye on though, as all three clubs could well be on the market for some creativity this summer, but one thing thats certain is Hernanes won’t be the last player linked with a big-money move to the Premiership in the coming months.
