Germany World Cup star Mesut Ozil is set to disappoint several Premier League clubs after doing a u-turn on his future and will now stay at Werder Bremen and see out the remaining year of his contract.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the 21-year-old creative midfielder in recent weeks with bids of £20m being lined up. The player was quoted last week as describing Chelsea and United as the type of team he would like to play for. It seemed certain Ozil would leave Bremen after he made it clear he had no intention of signing a contract extension but now both parties are happy for him to run down his contract which expires in 2011.

“Bremen want me to fulfill my contract and so do I,” Ozil told the Bild. “I have always said that I want to fulfill my contract, for me that is the natural thing to do.”
