Van Persie Laughs Along As Santos Makes Joke At Chamakh’s Expense

By on April 17, 2012

The Arsenal players may be licking their wounds after a humbling 2-1 defeat to Wigan at the Emirates on Monday night, but they were all jokes and smiles during training before the game.

Andre Santos posted a picture on Twitter on Monday of him, Robin van Persie, Sebastian Squillaci and Bacary Sagna hitching a ride on the back of a trailer while striker Marouane Chamakh ran behind trying to jump on board. The Brazilian defender poked fun at the Moroccan by accompanying the image with “Sorry!! This ride is for good looking lads only..See you later #Marouane”.

Robin Van Persie clearly appreciated Santos’s joke, as the Dutchman used his official Twitter account to re-tweeted his team mate, adding “LOOOL”

Good banter from the lads. This is why i love Twitter. We get little insights into what goes on behind the scenes at the club. Santos seems like a life-loving Brazilian and may have replaced Emmanuel Eboue as the joker within the Arsenal squad.

It’s good to have characters like him around, although not sure he should take his ‘relaxed’ attitude on to the pitch. He was pretty poor against Wigan on Monday night, but he wasn’t the only one!  If you want to see my player ratings from the game, check them out here.

Its nice to see the squad getting along it helps form a more cohesive squad on the pitch as well. The more jokers and fun they have at the club the more likely the squad will stay together, If its just not fun its easier to walk to the exit. The whole team played badly. Its probably better they played Wigan badly and can try and work even harder towards the next match which is probably even more important. We have the chance to knock down Chelsea and practically ensure at least 4th spot. Sigh although I would love to see the spuds fall out of the champion’s league spot.

SO if you look at the stats Johan Djourou has started 14 games in the PL this season in which 8 of arsenals 10 defeats have occurred. also has been the a starting feature in our loss to Man C in the CC, our loss to Sunderland in the FAC and our 4-0 away loss to AC Milan in the CL. Coincidence i think not!!!!
