Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has won the PFA Player of the Year Award, as confirmed by Goal.com. The Dutchman was nominated for the prestigious prize alongside Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Tottenham’s Scott Parker and Man City trio Joe Hart, Sergio Aguero and David Silva.

Van Persie has had a sensational year, scoring 27 goals in 34 league games so far this season. His goals have been a major factor in Arsenal’s recovery after their poor start, helping guide the Gunners into third position in the league and on course for automatic Champions League qualification.

Tottenham youngster Kyle Walker scooped the Young Player of the Year Award after his excellent season at right back for Spurs. His fine form has also seem him break in to the England set up and he will hope to be on the plane for this summers European Championships. Walker won the award ahead of Man City’s Sergio Aguero and Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge.

So what do they do on Match of the Day??? Spend time talking about how Rooney should have won it. So if you ever wondered which team the BBC supports…………..damned disrespectful if you ask me.

Your right m8, they are racist twats and only hold their own country men in high esteem, we all know that most english players are over rated and over priced and a load of crap apart from the few exceptions. RVP you do deserve the award regardless you are dutch or english, well deserved.

RvP well done, class player! But really Kyle walker better than sergio aguero? thats a joke that makes these awards continue to be a sham. They just gotta have a british winner somehow
