Van Persie Agent Holds Juventus Talks Ahead Of Potential £25m Move

Morning Gooners. The agent of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has reportedly held talks with Italian giants Juventus ahead of a potential summer move, according to the Daily Mail.

Van Persie has been Arsenal’s talisman since the departure of Cesc Fabregas last summer and has scored an impressive 27 goals in 34 games so far this season. The 28-year-old will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has delayed discussions over fresh terms until the end of the season.

The Mail claims that the Dutchman’s representatives have now held talks with Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici, with the Serie A leaders ready to make a £25m move should he fail to agree a new deal at the Emirates. However, they could face competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City who are all monitoring RVP’s situation.

I’m not sure i believe these reports. No doubt discrete talks take place behind the scenes but Juventus? Really? Sure they are a massive club and look like they have bounced back from their fixing scandal and are set to win Serie A this season. But i really can’t see Van Persie leaving Arsenal for Italy. If he does leave, I can only see it being to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Also, £25m?! That won’t buy RVP’s right leg, never mind the rest of him. Given the reliance Arsenal now have on him and his contribution to the team this season, the board would be insane to sell him for just £25m, regardless of his contract situation. I say let him run his contract down if he refuses to sign an extension.

regardless of his contract situation? are you kidding me dude? contract situation counts for AT LEAST 40% of football transfers. look at nuri sahin, ozil, vidal, khedira, MCMANAMAN to Real. regardless of contract situation? wow. if arsenal dont sell him for 25m he will leave for FREE. how is that not relevant to transfer fees?

I say let him run his contract out and if we win a title next season he might stay? We bought him for 3 million pounds back in the days..

You people are so dishonest with your headlines. To quote you…
‘I’m not sure i believe these reports.’
In that case why do you word your headline as if it is a given fact? Why not preface with ‘It is reported….’, which is a reflection of the actual situation because this story is solely based on rumours and stories emanating from Italy, notoriously unreliable. The most helpful thing sites like yours could do is ignore rather than propagate this nonsense.

F#@k RVP if he wants to go, sell him & make a profit on his head. That’s my opinion, all of the footballers that leave arsenal have no respect. They leave the team broken. Replace all of them with players that deserve a the time on the field. ENGLISHMAN!!!

He has 1 year left on his contract so how can anyone be talking to anyone, he’s not free to talk to any club until he enters the last 6 months of his contract no?So if his agent is talking to Juve surely he’s breaking some rules?
