Morning Gooners. The agent of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has reportedly held talks with Italian giants Juventus ahead of a potential summer move, according to the Daily Mail.

Van Persie has been Arsenal’s talisman since the departure of Cesc Fabregas last summer and has scored an impressive 27 goals in 34 games so far this season. The 28-year-old will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has delayed discussions over fresh terms until the end of the season.

The Mail claims that the Dutchman’s representatives have now held talks with Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici, with the Serie A leaders ready to make a £25m move should he fail to agree a new deal at the Emirates. However, they could face competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City who are all monitoring RVP’s situation.

I’m not sure i believe these reports. No doubt discrete talks take place behind the scenes but Juventus? Really? Sure they are a massive club and look like they have bounced back from their fixing scandal and are set to win Serie A this season. But i really can’t see Van Persie leaving Arsenal for Italy. If he does leave, I can only see it being to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Also, £25m?! That won’t buy RVP’s right leg, never mind the rest of him. Given the reliance Arsenal now have on him and his contribution to the team this season, the board would be insane to sell him for just £25m, regardless of his contract situation. I say let him run his contract down if he refuses to sign an extension.
