Hazard - Fergie confirms interest

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed his interest in Lille forward Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 21-year-old is one of the hottest properties in European football after two impressive seasons in Ligue 1. This form has lead to interest from a number of Premier League clubs in recent months, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and Tottenham all linked with a summer move (source: ESPN).

Sky Sports News reported two weeks ago that United were keeping tabs on the Belgian international and now Fergie himself has confirmed that he was impressed with the youngster when he took time to watch him in action against Lyon earlier this month.

When asked by French radio station RMC if he was at the Lille-Lyon game to watch Hazard, the United boss said:

“I was at the game and watched Hazard, as well as other players.

“That’s part of my job, looking at good players.

“Hazard is a very good player and has a lot of qualities. He’s particularly quick over the first 10 yards.”

Ferguson is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

So United are the latest club to confirm their interest in the exciting Hazard, who seems certain to make a move to the Premier League this summer. But the big question is; who will he join?
