Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has given an update on the fitness of captain Steven Gerrard ahead of this weekends trip to Norwich.
Gerrard missed last weeks 0-1 defeat to West Brom at Anfield after he was withdrawn from the squad as a precaution due to a minor injury concern.
However, the 31-year-old is set to return for Liverpool this weekend and will travel with the squad to Carrow Road for Saturday evenings late kick off after making a swift recovery.
Reds boss Dalglish told the clubs official website Liverpoolfc.tv that his skipper has successfully trained all week and is ready to return this weekend:
“He’s fine, no problem,” said the boss.
“We said it was just a precaution so he’s back training. He’s been training all week, so there’s no other problems.”
Gerrard’s return will be a major boost to Liverpool, who are hoping to pick up their disappointing league form ahead of their FA Cup final with Chelsea.
