Dalglish Draws Up Striker Shortlist As Carroll Looks Set For Summer Move

Soldado - on Kenny's short-list

Liverpool are considering sending Andy Carroll out on loan next season as Kenny Dalglish looks to freshen up his striking options, according to the Metro.

The Reds have been shy in front of goal this season, managing just 40 league goals so far, and a new striker is the number one priority when the transfer window re-opens this summer.

The Metro claim that Dalglish has drawn up a three-man striker shortlist that includes Roberto Soldado, Fernando Llotente and David Texeira, with owner J.W. Henry ready to back his manager with substantial funds this summer.

The arrival of a new forward would cast doubt over the future of £35m flop Andy Carroll, with the report claiming that Dalglish is ready to send him out on loan to help him rediscover his past form. It’s also suggested that former Director of Football Damien Camolli told Dalglish to loan the 23-year-old out in January, but the Scot decided to give Carroll until the end of the season to prove himself.

The former Newcastle striker’s form has certainly improved in recent weeks, netting two vital goals in his last three games, including an FA Cup semi final winner against Everton. However, it looks like if King Kenny can land one of his top targets, the former England international will be allowed to leave Anfield at least until the New Year.

I THINK THOSE 3 SIGNINGS WULD BE THE BEST FOR LIVERPOOL FC IF DONE. CARROL SHULD INDEED BE LOANED OUT FOR GOD SAKE.

Andy Carrol is still one of the best centre forwards in the country and the reason he has not done well for Liverpool is that nobody in the liverpool side gives him the service, and quite frankly Liverpool do not deserve to have him.

We could have loaned Carroll out in January (and hopefully he’d be good for next season) and loaned in a couple talented youngsters to net a few goals apiece and not have seen our dramatic decline since Christmas! Cheers Kenny, yet another fine mess you’ve got us into! lol

So you would suggest we should have loaned out Carroll and brought in some unproven youngsters last January?
Go back to Football manager, you clearly know nothing of reality

no point loaning carroll, not gona get much better.hes trying a bit harder and certainly a handfull in the air but lacks the skill and touch a liverpool player requires. the geordies wont take him back altho he fancys a move back to the north east.best solution for everyone is to send him to the mackems in a swap deal with sessegon.i know oneil is interested and hes twice the player bendter is already and sessegon is liverpool quality without a doubt.

Total net spend £33million, wage bill reduced by £9million.
If you must insist on pretending to be a Liverpool fan, at least educate yourself, if you are just going to tow the press line then you may as well become a Utd fan

That argument is such a false economy… it is like saying I sold my last house for 400K and my new one for 600K. Look at the bargain that I got for 200K.

He had 110 million to spend and what players Liverpool have in return is the result of the full spend.

Carrol, Henderson, Downing, Suárez, Coates, Adam, Enrique and Bellamy are not worth 110 million.

in fact right now Enrique, Suarez and Bellamy look like they are worth anything like the money paid for them.

at least Carrol, Henderson and Coates have time on there side, but right now it is a disaster.

If the team had come good in the last half of the season it would be a sign of progress, but it looks like the team is going backwards in the league. We have struggled to win a game in 2012

Listen mate – if you are going to use an analogy then let it make sense and try and write English please as some of the nonsense that you have written makes no sense! Bellamy was a free you muppet!

I’m sick of all of these Championship Managers thinking they can a) select players b) motivate them c) determine tactics e) run a club f) handle the press g) answer to morons h) etc etc

If you are so good – why aren’t you in charge???

What has happened to true supporters? Everyone is so brave behind the anonymous internet.

Pathetic – you have probably never played proper football in your life.

Metro ….. they haven’t got a clue. KD will keep Caroll as he will come good despite all the nonbelievers who take pleasure in slacking him off. As Lucas did, Caroll will put in the hard work needed and become LFC’s version of Gomez. Mark my words. Soldado and Llorente doesn’t fit the transfer policy of FSG, Texeira perhaps, but I’d suggest we Luuk de Jong and Luc Castaignos who are both young and hungry are on any shortlist drawn up … remember FSG are in it for the long haul and not just to please those who live in football manager lala land expecting instant succes.

Henry has cash – checkMOve t Dalglish upstairs, he’s done a job in stabilising the club – check
Bring in Mourinho, if Mouruinho wants 12 mill a year – give it to him
Give him 150 mill to spend, Mourinho will be able to attract players regardless of whether we are in CL
    The rest will follow,

I really feel for Danglish and Carrol at this situation Liverpool fc finds itself judging from its past tradition. Sacking the coach now isn’t proper but only loaning Carrol out will do us good later. What we need now is reinforcement at the back and front with a sharp play maker as good as Messi, and Suares to compliment our attacking sharpness. Importantly, a past liverpool player good in sycology should be employed to instill into the new players what it takes to be in liverpool, I mean liverpool winning tradition. By so doing, next season wil be success.

Not sure who would want to buy Carroll. I think we have wealth in our youth. Let them take the next step. Keep Carrol on the bench

Either Soldado or Lorente would be great but Higuain would be a revelation if we could pull off signing him We badly need to sort out our wings too.We need Carroll to play well for us I think if we loaned him he would do well and then come back and do shit for us.Carroll has been terrible this season but I do feel for the lad because the service has been even worse. Its about time we had two proper wingers and two proper strikers.
Under performing players should be dropped to the reserves and made to earn their place in the team thats how its suppose to be.
I think aswell its time for Suso to move up to first team he is ready.

What i hate in managers like kd is havin jxt 1 option,we need to hav more options like man city with 4 strikers, not only striking also midfield n defence and there will be competition and if 1 does not perform anoda will,we need llorente and texeira

It’s amazing how Liverpool and Dalglish confide in the writer and tell him all the things they are after in the Summer. What a load of rubbish conjecture and make-believe this it!

soldado is the man and if we really need champion league spot then we need to spend and get falcao victor moses right winge and adam johnson left and finally get rhode as back up striker.sell kuty maxi downing aurelio adam/and bring back insua aquilani, loan carrol suso sterling with agreement all will hav first eleven time of play but if nt no deal and KD should make sure the loan is done in the premiership nt 2nd division also make sure they are nt used against ours ok.

And you should go and support somebody else! Seriously the club can do without fans like you. Knee jerk reactions. Ferguson was one win away from the sack 20 years ago and look what happened. People need to be more patient. You don’t win the league overnight.
