Chelsea have confirmed the signing of German international midfielder Marko Marin.

The Blues revealed on their official website that they have agreed a fee with Werder Bremen and the 23-year-old has agreed personal terms ahead of a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

An announcement on chelseafc.com read:

“Chelsea Football Club have today (Saturday) agreed to sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen.

Both clubs have agreed a fee and the 23-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms.

Marin, a German international, will join Chelsea in the summer.”

The Telegraph claim the creative midfielder will cost around £10m and the move was agreed after he completing a medical in London this week.

Marin, who has been likened to Tottenham’s Luka Modric, has spent three season in Germany with Werder Bremen and has been deployed mainly on the left side of midfield, although he can also operate in a more central position.

It’s also suggested that Blues striker Romelu Lukaku could be set to move to Bremen on loan as part of the deal.
