Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is set to miss the rest of the season after picking up a thigh strain during the Gunners 1-1 draw with Stoke on Saturday, according to the Daily Mirror.

Diaby has endured a torrid season that has been plagued by a series of injuries, and has only managed five substitute appearances so far this campaign.

The Frenchman had only just returned from a hamstring strain when he came on as a second half sub against the Potters, but his injury jinx stuck again as he limped off the pitch at full time.

The Mirror suggests that Diaby will miss Arsenal’s last two games with Norwich and West Brom and is now a major doubt for this summers Euro’s. The report also claims that the 25-year-old has told friends he’s concerned about the seriousness of his latest injury but will be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team before any official prognosis is announced.

After his worst season at the Emirates, with only five substitute appearances, surely Arsene Wenger must be considering Diaby’s future at Arsenal? Despite having the potential to be a top player, he’s become a liability. The only problem may be finding a buyer who’s willing to pay his high wages and take on a player with such a disastrous injury record.
