Arsenal Agree €22m M’Vila Deal and Step Up Interest In Hoilett

Morning Gooners. A lot of transfer news doing the rounds today as Arsenal are linked with a double swoop for Yann M’Vila and Junior Hoilett.

News of a deal for M’Vila broke last night on Twitter and those rumours seem to have been verified as several sources run the story today, although there is some contention over the finer details.

Goal.com suggest a €22m (£17.7m) fee has been agreed between Arsenal and Rennes, with the 21-year-old will ready to sign a four-year contract, but the deal is dependant on Arsenal qualifying for next seasons Champions League. However, other reports claim that the deal will go through shortly after the West Brom game irrespective of whether we qualify for the Champions League or not.

It would make sense that a record deal like this would only go through if Arsenal were to secure a spot in the lucrative Champions League, so lets just beat West Brom and sign this lad, because he’s a proper defensive midfielder and he’d be a great signing.

The Daily Mail also run the M’Vila story but they are also reporting that we’re stepping up our interest in Junior Hoilett, who is available on a free transfer this summer.

Hoilett would be a replacement for Andrey Arshavin, who is likely to make his move to Zenit St. Petersburg permanent in the summer, but there is a lot of competition for the Blackburn winger.

This will be a sign of good things to come. I couldn’t imagine how strong our midfield will be for next season. Poldoski, Yann M’villa, Hoillet, Arteta, Rosisky, Wilshere. Indeed, Arsenal and Arsene Wenger have woken up. Gunners till i die.

With 15 assists this season I wouldn’t worry Song too much as he’ll be pushed up field in certain games. As Arteta has been forced to play deep alongside Song it will also free him up to play the attacking midfield role where Rosicky plays now. Signing M’Vila will give us great options going forward with loads of combinations.

Another thing that you might not want to hear is that it’s rumoured that Song doesn’t want to renew his contract.

Arrival of Mvilla might mean an exit for Song. i cant see us have 2 of them in the squad. It will be a great thing if we can becuase it will give us more options as Song will have the freedom to go forward. We must not forget that Arteta is still there. With Mvilla arrival, we might not need Ventogen but we may get another right footed full back who can slot in for Kos if not available and also play on the right. Well if Bartley is back and fit maybe we will have a big squad. I can see Squilaci on his way out
