Big Guns In Four-Way Battle For £50m Modric

Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid are fighting it out to sign Tottenham’s unsettled midfielder Luka Modric, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has failed to persuade Modric to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane and it’s now looking increasingly likely that the Croatian midfielder could leave the club this summer.

Modric is believed to have decided to wait until the end of the European Championships before making a final decision on his future, but Tottenham’s failure to secure Champions League football has given the player the perfect excuse to push for a move again.

It’s thought that if Spurs are forced to cash in, they would prefer to sell abroad meaning Real Madrid are in pole position for his signature. However, the Mail claim Tottenham’s £50m valuation is likely to be a major stumbling block.

Chelsea failed with a £40m bid on deadline day last summer and it’s expected the newly crowned European Champions will make their interest official this summer, but this time they will have major competition in both Manchester clubs as well as the new Spanish champions Madrid.

It is your club (rags) that is respnsible for these outrageous transfer fees with all you big signing down the years. Now you have a family of bloodsuckers running your club and can no longer compete for the best players you try the itsnotfair card. Tough titty.

Although UTD won nothing they are still the most valuable team /brand in the world.BURN on that haters

ya have to love the way spurs fans think players like mexes/erikson/hazard/levezzi or hulk would ever end up at your club. No champ league ye peaked start of this yr with a squad that was assembled over a long period of time. and once modric leaves that will start the exodus. Bale will defin be nxt gone then prob van der vaart. spurs are not a top four club never will be and to attract the best players you have to have regular champ league football. stop dreaming.

Quite indifferent to it all now – Sell him, anywhere, don’t really care now.
Scored about 15 goals in 4 years so doubt he’ll be the one to pop up and score the winner. United have been cherry picking our players for years, why stop now. 32 mil (we aint getting 40)which is double what we paid and off you go.
THE CLUB WAS HERE BEFORE MODRIC AND WILL BE HERE AFTER

Would be nice to take 40 mil from Chelsea for them to then find he shoots like a girl with pigtails and actually isn’t any better than Marin, whom they signed for 8 mil

Im a life long spurs fan and while I rate luka modric aka sulkie-bum-sniff as my wife calls him. I also believe Levy did fantastic to keep hold of him last yr, just shame we weakened in jan rather than strenghtened and I believe thats the real reason we aint in the champs lgue now n laughing at the scum down the road, instead of the other way round.

I believe its time to sell for 50m preferably abroad, dont get diarra as he’s a good player but we have parker, sandro, livermore and thud who play the same way as him, also he has sickly cell anemia, so will be in to much pain to play most wks.

For me personally, id say sign craig gordon or chris kirland on a free as back up goalie, while also signing kasper schmeichel. Let gomes and cudicini go

sign figuieora on a free to cover benni, also sign vertonghan to play with kaboul and caulker to help him grow a bit more. Give naughton a squad number and a run in the cups

I think we can convince bale to stay and would like to see victor moses and junior hoillet sign as cover / competition for bale and lennon. As for centre mid like I said we got defensive mids in thud, sandro, parker and livermore, we also have creative mids in kranjcar, pienaar and tom carroll even though it might be a bit soon for carroll, so id like to see ideally ganso or pranjic replace modric, if not them then rasmus elm.

We got rafa but would like to see him joined by dembele as competition also to help rafa rest when needed.

Upfront I think we need ade and he obv wants us too. Defoe and saha can go, so can gio. Id love to see berba back at the lane but for no more than 5/6m, damiao and rossi would be a dream attacking line up but if we cant attract them then id go for rodellega on a free and remy.

Thats my opinions I know not everyone will agree.

I’m not a fan of Modders, he doesn’t win us big games, yes he does stroke the ball around well n look busy, n may well improve in a star ridden team or improve their bench price. I will be glad if he goes for £40 upwards, we can the move on buying two desperatly needed strikers, and a cb. I feel we have enough midfielders at present, although I would’ve loved Eden hazard in for lennon, its not going to happen.

I dont really care where he goes. As a true genuine fan of nearly 50 years, i refuse point blank to spend one penny on the club while these massively over paid ego maniacs continue to disrespect the clubs that made them famous in the first place.
Luka Who? when we signed him.

    Good riddance.

WTF??? £50mil for Modric? He’s scored 13 & assisted 21 in FOUR years at the lane. You lot are f***ing deluded..be lucky to get £25mil for him! Bunch of wannabe wankers!! Hahahahaha

  15. Amoto says:

it will be a complete waste of money to me. I think eriksen of ajax is a much younger and viable option in midfield for chelsea, instead of d overhyped modric who performs poorly in big games.
