Hernanes – denies transfer talk

Brazilian midfielder Hernanes has insisted he has no plans to leave Lazio, despite speculation linking him with Arsenal.

According to ESPN, Hernanes has been linked with a move to the Emirates while Russian big-spenders Anzhi Makhachkala have also been credited with interest amid rumours the 26-year-old was eyeing a summer move away from Italy.

However, the player has been quoted as saying that he is aware of rumours linking him with a move, but he has no desire to leave the Stadio Olimpico any time soon.

“I don’t have any plans to move. I have also heard those rumours but there is no truth in what is being said. I am leaving for Brazil for 15 days and then I will return to Rome to begin pre-season training with Lazio.”

Hernanes was quoted as saying by ESPN

The midfielder has spent two seasons with Lazio following an £11.2 million move from Sao Paulo and has settled well in Italy, netting 8 goals in 31 games last season.

This one was always a long shot. There was never any real foundation to the transfer gossip and i never really thought a move to Arsenal was on the cards.

I tried watching him not good enough for the club, not better than anyone we already had at the club or targets such as Marvin Martin or Yarmolenko. Would rather have Yossi back imo.
