Morning Gooners. Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia has revealed Arsenal are interested in signing him, according to Sky Sports News.

The defensive midfielder has enjoyed another excellent season with Anderlecht, captaining them to a second successive Belgian league title.

This form has lead to interest from several clubs throughout Europe and the 26-year-old has confirmed his desire to move on this summer, despite still having three years to run on his current contract.

The Argentinean is quoted by Sky Sports News as claiming both Arsenal and Real Madrid have been in contact and if a club submits a suitable offer, believed to be £8m, he will be allowed to leave Anderlecht:

“Real Madrid and Arsenal have both been in contact,” Biglia is quoted as saying in The Sun.

“I am still under contract with Anderlecht until 2015 but they know that I plan to leave.

“If a club offers the right price, Anderlecht will let me go.”

FT Verdict

The Biglia rumours have been around for a while now, in fact i remember us being linked with him last summer. But i think he’s likely to be a back up option in case our move for Yann M’Vila falls through.

However, if he’s available for just £8m then Arsene might just be tempted to go for the cheaper option, and Biglia would certainly add a bit of steel to our midfield.
