The summer transfer window is open and Football Talk will bring you all the latest Chelsea transfer news. Today, a Belgian midfielder is linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will continue their summer spending with a move for £20m-rated Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to the Mirror.
Chelsea have already spent £40m on Eden Hazard and Marko Marin this summer, while a £38m deal to sign Brazilian striker Hulk is also close to being completed, and the Mirror claims that Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to take his spending towards the £100m mark by splashing a further £20m on the Belgian ace.
Fellaini has been a stand-out performer at Goodison Park in recent seasons having made the move to Merseyside from Standard Liege in 2008. David Moyes played him in a more advanced role behind the striker last season, but it’s thought Chelsea would utilise him in his more familiar role as a defensive midfielder.
The Mirror believe that the 24-year-old could be available for £20m this summer, as Everton continue to struggle due to their financial woes.
Chelsea have been linked with Fellaini for some time now and with Abramovich in the mood to spend, we can see the giant Belgian midfielder finally making the move to London this summer.
