Samir Nasri Linked With Move Back To Arsenal, LOL

By on June 10, 2012

With the transfer window now open, we’ll bring you all the latest transfer news. Today, we’ve got one of the more comical rumours doing the rounds as Samir Nasri is linked with a move back to Arsenal!

Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri has been linked with a possible move back to former side Arsenal this summer. That’s right, Nasri back to Arsenal! ‘Silly season’ has truly begun. For those of you who have finished laughing, the story goes like this.

The Metro are reporting that Manchester City are ready to offload the Frenchman this summer after boss Roberto Mancini was left distinctly unimpressed with Nasri’s contribution last season following his £25m move from Arsenal 12 months ago.

While the report stops short of saying Nasri has been transfer listed, they do claim that City will listen to offers and suggest that Arsene Wenger will be interested in bringing him back to the Emirates.

Nasri made 45 appearances in all competitions last season for City, scoring just 6 goals, and was nowhere near as influential as he was during his final year with the Gunners, so it’s easy to see why Mancini would be left a little under-whelmed. But to suggest a possible move back to Arsenal is ludicrous.

Nasri’s exit from Arsenal was one of the messiest in recent memory. He did, and has continued to, make verbal attacks on Arsenal fans and has constant digs at the club whenever the opportunity presents itself. He has become a hate figure in North London. Put simply, Nasri wouldn’t be welcome back at Arsenal.

But let’s just pretend for a second that he was, how on earth do the Metro think Arsenal would be able to afford Nasri’s over-inflated salary? Or even afford the price-tag that City would demand? Which no doubt will be far higher than the fee we received now he’s tied down to a long-term deal at the Etihad.

The whole story is hilarious, but entertaining nonetheless. I’m just waiting for the Adebayor to Arsenal rumour to start up!

Sorry Arsenal fans, you won’t get Nasri back. He was crucial for City on the run in to becoming Champions (scoring the winner v Chelsea for instance) & has had a very successful 1st season.

He is providing plenty of assists, scoring crucial goals & working his socks off for the team. Will be better still next season now he is settling into the team.

I’m a gooner through and through, but Nasri is still my favourite player, even though he is a little prick most of the time. Him coming back would be insane, welcome back or not, would be a good signing for the club, if he doesnt move on after a few years.

yes i agree i would rather have adebayor back at arsenal instead of nasri because adebayor in my opinion is more skilful than nasri and he can score like a boss. So yes i would rather bring adebayor back to the emirates because i would rather have adebayor than van persie

Na$ri would not be welcome back at the Emirates even if he was available on a free. There is more chance of Ronaldo joining Exeter City! Ludicrous story. Writers must be really bored.

Ted, Just Who are you trying to kid. Nasri was not at all influential. He had couple of decent games. The rest of his season was rubbish! why do you think we were glad to see the back of him. He was a traitor to his club, and left purely for the cash. Now he has proven to City just how poor he is, he will be offloaded. City don’t keep players long anyway and most of this present City squad will be gone over the next two or three seasons. Good luck in finding a buyer who will pay his ridiculous wages that City were stupid enough to pay in the first place!

Nasri should ask himself how long has he been consistent as a player..he is not yet a supper star..like messi who is so humble and consistent.i suggest man city loan him to Nigerian league Enyimba lets see if he can improve.
