[Video] Superb Van Persie Goal Not Enough As Holland Lose 2-1 To Germany

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie scored a superb goal as Holland went down 2-1 to Germany in their Group B second round tie.

Van Persie was criticised for his performance during Holland’s shock 1-0 loss to Denmark in the opening game after he missed several chances, and his struggles in front of goal looked set to continue after missing two decent first half chances tonight.

However, after a Gomez brace put the German’s 2-0 up RVP finally found the net with a superb right-footed strike from the edge of the area to make it 2-1. The Dutch couldn’t find an equaliser and they now face a struggle to qualify for the next round  Watch the goals here:
