Wigan have rejected an undisclosed offer from Chelsea for Victor Moses, according to Sky Sports News.

Moses has just 12 months to run on his current contract and has made it clear he has no intention of signing an extension at the DW Stadium.

Several clubs have been monitoring the players situation but Sky Sports News claim that Chelsea have now made their move and submitted an opening offer. That bid is thought to be below Wigan’s valuation of the player and has been rejected out of hand, but talks between the two clubs are expected to continue.

Moses is an attacking midfielder who can play anywhere across the front line behind the striker, and was mostly used on the wing’s last season by Roberto Martinez.

The 21-year-old was a stand-out performer for Wigan last term and was vital in the clubs fight against relegation, scoring 6 goals in37 league games.

Should Chelsea land Moses it could spell the end for Daniel Sturridge, who fell out-of-favour under Roberto Di Matteo last season and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
