Victor Moses has spoken out about his future amid reports Chelsea have had a bid rejected by Wigan.

Sky Sports News claimed that the European champions had a bid rejected by the Latics on Tuesday, but talks between the two club were expected to be on-going.

The Mirror claim today that Chelsea’s bid was just £4m, an offer that Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has described as ‘insulting’, and that the 21-year-old has been offered a bumper new deal to remain at the DW Stadium, which would see his wages double to around £40,000-a-week.

Dave Whelan is quoted as saying in the Mirror:

“We’ve made him a very good offer – involving a doubling of his wages – over the next three years,” he said.

“It’s down to whether the lad himself listens to sense, or whether he listens to his agent.”

However, the same paper also have quotes from the player, who claims if it was up to him “the highest bidder would take the day”. When asked about interest from Chelsea, Moses said:

“Now that I’m done with the national team, my attention should switch to the transfer window,” said Moses.

“I’ve heard a lot of offers are on the table. First of all, Wigan have the final say, but for me, the highest bidder would take the day. But right now, I’m still a DW faithful.”

Moses is quoted as saying in the Mirror.

The Mirror take the stance that with this statement, Moses suggests he will join the club who offer him the most money, basically portraying him as a money-grabber.

However, we happen to think the player meant that if it was up to him, the club who offered WIGAN the most money for his services, would sign him. Of course nobody really knows exactly what he meant other than Victor Moses, but one thing that does look certain is that the Nigerian attacker is set for a move this summer.
