Rennes have confirmed they are yet to receive a bid for Yann M’Vila with Arsenal said to have dropped their interest in the midfielder, according to the Metro.

The report claims that Arsenal have been tracking the Frenchman for around 18 months and that the player himself has made it clear he wants to leave Rennes this summer to go to the Premier League and ‘work under a famous French manager’.

The Telegraph claimed earlier in the summer that a £17.7m deal to take him to north London was almost done, however those reports seem to be wide of the mark as Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi has confirmed the club are yet to receive any firm offer for the player:

‘There is interest in Yann M’Vila, but no concrete offers. It is early in the window, we will wait for offers to arrive,’

Dreossi is quoted as saying by the Metro.

Arsenal’s interest is thought to have cooled after the 21-year-old was involved in a spat with French boss Laurent Blanc at Euro 2012, and the Metro are now claiming that the Gunners interest is all but over following the latest disciplinary incident.

M’Vila will return from holiday in around 10 days time at which point it’s thought he will look to clarify his future. But the way things are looking right now, he’s unlikely to be heading to the Emirates this summer.
