The report claims that the Gunners have identified the Wigan ace as a potential replacement for winger Theo Walcott, who is yet to agree a contract extension at the club.
Moses has become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League after expressing his desire to leave the Latics this summer. The 21-year-old was a stand-out performer as Wigan survived the drop against all the odds last term.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to land the winger, while Chelsea have already had a bid for the Nigerian youngster turned down by Wigan. Owner Dave Whelan is determined to get the best possible price for his prized asset, who only has one year remaining on his current contract, and is holding out for a fee of around £12m.
The Star claim that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now ready to throw his hat in the ring as the future of Theo Walcott become more uncertain.
Walcott has just 12 months to run on his contract and has so far rejected Arsenal’s £70,000-a-week offer, with the 23-year-old said to be holding out for nearer £100,000-a-week. The Star report that Wenger has told club officials to sell the attacker if an offer of around £15m comes in, with Chelsea said to be interested.
Moses would be an excellent replacement for Walcott, if the England man does in fact leave the Emirates this summer.
However, I’m not sure he will go. I think Walcott will sign a new contract with the Gunners in the end and Moses will end up at Chelsea, but only time will tell.
