Arsenal are ready to enter the race to sign Chelsea and Liverpool target Victor Moses, according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that the Gunners have identified the Wigan ace as a potential replacement for winger Theo Walcott, who is yet to agree a contract extension at the club.

Moses has become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League after expressing his desire to leave the Latics this summer. The 21-year-old was a stand-out performer as Wigan survived the drop against all the odds last term.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to land the winger, while Chelsea have already had a bid for the Nigerian youngster turned down by Wigan. Owner Dave Whelan is determined to get the best possible price for his prized asset, who only has one year remaining on his current contract, and is holding out for a fee of around £12m.

The Star claim that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now ready to throw his hat in the ring as the future of Theo Walcott become more uncertain.

Walcott has just 12 months to run on his contract and has so far rejected Arsenal’s £70,000-a-week offer, with the 23-year-old said to be holding out for nearer £100,000-a-week. The Star report that Wenger has told club officials to sell the attacker if an offer of around £15m comes in, with Chelsea said to be interested.

Football Talk Verdict

Moses would be an excellent replacement for Walcott, if the England man does in fact leave the Emirates this summer.

However, I’m not sure he will go. I think Walcott will sign a new contract with the Gunners in the end and Moses will end up at Chelsea, but only time will tell.

Moses is the perfect kind of player Chelsea needs. They better sign him now or risk losing him and regretting later. B4 now, he was sought after by even Real madrid when he moved from crystal palace to wigan (just for more playing time). Moses is strong which makes him a chelsea kind of player, he can play behind a striker and on both wings (which tells us of his versatility). Xray his performance in African football (which isn’t easy) and against all the big premiership teams last season- he had almost the highest number of completed dribbles, that will tell you he’s a star waiting to explode somewhere like in Chelsea.. So BLUE that money £12m is cheap, get him! Cheers.

To you my fellow chelsea fans, not till someone is priced tens of millions, you never consider the player to be good enough. We can buy cheap good players from even bottom placed premier league teams. So, moses is a good bargain and his physicalities and pase will suit chelsea perfectly well. End of story.

pls chelsea should go and pay the offer to get moses becos the guy is deffinitelly an experience attacking midfidder who can also play along the striker..
Chelsea should go and pay the offer not when the player is netted 50 million that is when they think that this may be a great player.. 12 million isn’t big enough for a star like moses…chelsea go on time ….

We do love this guy, I do love Walcott and I think to pay him 100.000 per week is not a problem. Sell the deadwood players, add walcott wages. 30.000 pounds above his wages, i think is not too much. I read the stetment said that Aluminia will leave our club this summer. Please take his wages and add to walcott’s wages. The sameapplise to R.Van Perse. Sell the deadwood add wages for these two players. Moses is a good player and he is cheap, i think if he would be an additional to walcott, this would be better but to keep walcott is important. I want to seet him in Arsenal T-shirt next season.

Moses will be a perfect CAM and is qualified as a wing player too. Get him and keep Walcott too. I also believe that Moses can give Gervinho a good run for his money. A real team player. Its the reason we should rush and sign him before we read stories that touches afterwards.

RMD dont trade moses for Theo and not to think of spending £15m on Theo and leaving a valuable player in Moses at £12m. Preferably Moses wil be the man for the blues!
