Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed he’s looking to add at least one more player to his squad this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The United boss was speaking at a press conference on Thursday to officially present Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell as United players, when the Scot revealed his plans for the coming weeks.

Fergie admitted it’s always more difficult to make signings when a major tournament is taking place, but with the European championships now over, he is pressing ahead with strengthening his squad further and has confirmed he’s hoping to add one, if not two, new faces at Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

“We could possibly bring one, maybe two, more in,” said Ferguson.

“When there’s a major international tournament on, there’s a delay in the transfer market. But now the European Championships are over, we’re trying to bring someone in.”

Ferguson expressed his delight at securing the services of Kagawa and Powell, and praised the clubs ability to do business quickly.

“We’ve always done well in terms of getting players at the end of season, instead of waiting all summer.

“In Kagawa’s case, there was a fair bit of negotiating and that kept going for weeks. As for Powell, we knew Dario Gradi [Crewe Alexandra director of football] would help us do the deal quickly.”

I would love to see modric, lucus and martinace as a holding midfilder and as a defender. Then i would sell berbatov, anderson, and it doesent look well for flecher and ashley young the most over rated player i think utd have. And use scholes and giggs as impact players. And cleverly could be modric’s understudy

    My team

    De Gea

    Jones Vidic Smalling

    Martinace Modric

    Valencia Kagawa Nani

    Lucas

    Rooney

I know this wont happen but what a team it would be and very young

Valencia and Nani are down the flanks, and you will use the rest during the season as there are enough games around 60 plus injures. I think evra’s legs are gone and welback already thinks he should earn 60k a week what a joke he is far from the finished product. I would use chica a lot coming off the bench and cleverly

Alex fergie, His still missing the point if he is not buying a defensive midfielder at this stage. From look of things all those players Fergie is chasing are all attacking Midfielder. Michael Carrick is not all that effective again he needs a back up if possible to be sold out. To me he did not really contribute much as defensive mid fielder. MAN U to collect the EPL back from MAN CITY He need to buy a vibrant Defensive Midfielder to strengthen the Back and support the Attacking Midfielder. If the coach is thinking of buying one or more players to win the EPL and Champions league then he should pls buy a defensive midfielder very important. He can add another creative midfielder that can dribble and attack minded to the present squad in MAN U.

For MAN U to win EPL, Carling Cup, FA and Champions league We need a strong, vibrant and aggressive defensive midfielder. Michael Carrick has lost his form. He is not as strong as he use to be. We can’t compare him to the young talented Defensive mid fielder in MAN CITY and Chelsea. Am not saying Fergie should not bid for the likes of Lucas moura, RVP,Baines and Errickson. All these are attack minded midfielder. I would love Fergie thinking of buying Sneijer as either a replacement or back up for Michael Carrick. Sneijer will still be a good buy for MAN U as defensive mid fielder and am sure he will be willing to join MAN U squad because he has shown is interest in the past.He is stronger, young, talented and aggressive when compare to Michael Carrick. Fergie needs to do something to my comment before the season close. Am begging Sir alex ferguson to pls think in line of MAN U defensive mid field because WE MUST WIN MORE TROPHIES THIS COMING SEASON.
