Manchester United are showing an interest in Real Madrid’s £20-rated midfielder Nuri Sahin, according to Goal.com.

The Red Devils are growing tired in their pursuit of Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura after being knocked back by Sao Paulo and have began looking at alternative options. Sahin is believed to be under consideration by Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been made aware of the players availability this summer.

Goal understand that Madrid have made the Turkish international available for transfer after an injury-hit season in La Liga, with Jose Mourinho looking for around £20m for the former Borussia Dortmund ace.

Bayern Munich and Galatasaray have also been linked with Sahin but the 23-year-old is keen to remain at the Bernabeu and prove his worth.

“I have the desire to succeed here and want to prove my worth at Madrid. I’m living the dream at this club.”

Sahin is quoted as saying by Goal.com

However, with Tottenham’s Luka Modric likely to arrive at Real in the coming weeks, Sahin is likely to see his first team opportunities limited further next season, so an offer to join United may be too good to turn down.

It’s understood the player could be snapped up for £20m but United may look into the possibility of taking him on loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer if things work out.
