Napoli have told Chelsea it will take a bid of €100m (£78m) to persuade them in to selling star striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan has become one of Europe’s most wanted after another excellent season in Italy, where he scored 33 goals in 47 games, and also put in two impressive display’s against the Blues in the champions league last year.

According to the Daily Mail, Cavani is one of several front-men under consideration as Roberto Di Matteo looks to replace Didier Drogba, who left the club at the end of last season, with the European champions thought to be lining up an offer.

However, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has insisted he’s determined to hang on to the 25-year-old, and it would take a bid of €100m (£78m) to persuade him into selling their star man.

‘Cavani is not for sale, but we could let him go for €100m (£78m),’

‘This is not his actual value, but his value to me and he won’t leave for less.’

de Laurentiis is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail

The Mail understand that Chelsea are keen to tie up a deal for Brazilian midfielder Oscar before turning their attention to adding a right back and centre forward to the squad, but it seems as though Cavani is unlikely to be heading to Stamford Bridge this summer.
