With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsene Wenger has called Santi Cazorla a great player.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Spain winger Santi Cazorla, fueling rumours he’s on the verge of joining the Gunners.
Speaking while on Arsenal’s Asia tour, Wenger teased Arsenal fans by declaring his intention to sign more players this summer following the arrivals of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
Malaga winger Santi Cazorla has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days, with the Daily Mail claiming that a £15.6m deal is close after the 27-year-old agreed personal terms with the club.
Wenger was quizzed on these reports and while the Frenchman refused to give any firm details away, he did take the time to praise the Spaniard, calling him a “great player”.
“You see I have come here to say as little as possible!” joked Wenger, before adding: “I am ready to talk a lot, but not a lot about transfers, because it is a very fragile subject and a very secret subject.
“But I share the opinion of Mikel Arteta – he [Cazorla] is a great player.
“We bought Giroud and Podolski and I hope that we bought Diaby and Wilshere too, who didn’t play at all last season. We will add Wilshere to the squad as soon as possible. But we are not at the end of it [transfers] – we will still bring players in.”
Wenger is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News
In typical Wenger style, these comments come just days after the manager cheekily claimed he had never even heard of Cazorla, so i think most Arsenal fans who know Wenger well enough will be safe in the knowledge that there is definite interest in the player.

Lets just hope this doesn’t turn out like another Juan Mata fiasco like last summer. Close the deal asap, Arsene. You know it makes sense!
