Nuri-Sahin-Real-Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin is on his way to the Premier League after agreeing a year long loan move to a mystery club, according to widespread reports today.

Sahin made only two La Liga starts for Real Madrid last season, after joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2011. This lack of playing time has resulted in boss Jose Mourinho making available for loan this summer, and the player has agreed to make the move to England to an as yet un-confirmed Premier League side.

The 23-year-old has been left out of Madrid’s squad for a pre-season game against Benfica tonight in order to complete the move, with the Mirror claiming Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs are possible destinations.

However, the Daily Mail are one of several news outlets who claim it’s Arsenal who have won the race to sign the talented playmaker, after beating north London rivals Tottenham to his signature.

It’s believed Spurs were keen on the Turkish international as a make-weight in Luka Modric’s protracted move to Madrid, but it appears the Gunners may have beaten their rivals to Sahin, with confirmation on the deal due be announced within the next 24-48 hours.

Arsenal til Death? a little bit over passionate for a non-story that might or might not to an as yet unrevealed club… don’t you think?

The guy’s just showing his passion for the club he loves. We need more like him filling up seats at the Emirates and less of your type- Cucumber sandwich eating, sit on your hands, moan when we’re down styled supporter.
Leave him alone for loving his club. You could learn from him

This will be a tragic thing for Arsenal to sign Sahin on loan because all they are going to do is give him epl experience before sending him back to Madrid, the Sir Alex can then decide if he is good enough for next summer and IF he is good enough, he WILL end up at OLD TRAFFORD when Scholes finally retires!

I hope this is not a ploy by Wenger not to buy a midfielder while he is waiting for Wilshere to get well?

Nothing has been released about hpim going to spurs as he’s not. Madrid wanted to include him in the deal but tottenham want cash. This crap about arsenal beating spurs to him is utter rubbish!

I have just checked in the Spanish newspapers and it was three weeks ago that Real Madrid made the initial bid for Luka Modric. Spurs at that point said they would sell Modric as long as Nuri Sahin was part of the deal for him to transfer on a permanent basis.
Sahin at that time said he would not leave Madrid on a full time basis.
Now the Spanish sport newspapers claim that Spurs have agreed to a new bid from Real Madrid. So the papers say, Spurs will get a payment of £33 million and Nuri Sahin on loan for one season. This is similiar to when Spurs sold Berbatov to Manchester United, Spurs got Frazer Campbell on a full seasons loan.
Spurs were waiting for Real Madrid to up their offer for Modric, so that Spurs can buy out Moutinho’s contract at Porto, this will cost Spurs around £33 million to £35 million. So according to the people in the know in Spain, Modric to Real Madrid, Nri Sahin to Spurs on loan as part of the deal…..

    (Sorry for any spelling mistakes)

Cheers for the heads-up mate. I still don’t see this as a done deal though. We (tottenham) get linked to ridiculous amounts of players as soon as the window opens and people take it as gospel. Official site, holding a shirt and standing next to the manager..that’s when i’ll believe it. Another one doing the rounds, just like this one, is Santi Cazorla. I have read nothing from the club saying we’re interested, yet again we’ve been beaten to him by Arsenal, who haven’t said a word either! I know it’s silly season and all but come on people!! don’t believe everything you read.

  13. ColinSC says:

Who ever he goes to this is a 1 season loan with no chance of actually buying the player? So in a way even if the article is true it is still a wind up.

Well said Dylan, the Emirates is a beautiful edifice lacking passion from the home crowd,I think its about time the “very matured ” fans stayed home and watch matches from the peace, comfort and quiet of their living rooms and allow passionate fans to fill up the stands
