Chelsea are lining up an improved offer of £7.5m for Wigan Athletic”s wantaway winger Victor Moses, according to the Daily Mail.

Moses has now entered the final year of his contract at the DW Stadium and has so far refused to sign an extension after making it clear he want’s to test himself at the highest level.

The Blues have been chasing the 21-year-old Nigerian attacker all summer and have so far seen three bids rejected by Wigan, with owner Dave Whelan making it clear he wont sell for anything less than £10m.

However, despite Whelan’s protestations the European Champions will try their luck by offering £7.5m this week, but their latest bid is likely to be once again turned down by the Latics, as they know they will be due compensation for the player even if he runs down the final year of his contract.

Should Chelsea manage to land Moses this summer, he would be another attacking midfielder available to manager Roberto Di Matteo after the arrivals of Marko Marin, Eden Hazard and Oscar.
