Cazorla Due In London For Medical Ahead Of €22m Arsenal Move

By  Published: 1st August 2012

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsenal edge closer to Santi Cazorla.

Santi-Cazorla

Malaga winger Santi Cazorla is set to fly to London this week to undergo a medical ahead of a €22m move to Arsenal, according to Sky Sports News.

The Spaniard is determined to quit Malaga after reporting the club for unpaid wages and the La Liga side need the proceeds of his sale to help pay off mounting debts.

The clubs Qatar owners are currently trying to sell after racking up over £40m worth of debts. Talks with Albanian oil company Taci have broken down but there is interest from Russian and Middle East.

However, even if Malaga are sold Cazorla wants out and is keen to push through a move to north London, and it seems he’s set to get his wish.

Sky Sports claim that the 27-year-old is due to fly to London in the next 48 hours to undergo a medical, with Arsenal believed to have agreed a €22m (£17.3m) fee with Malaga. The players agent has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and Arsene Wenger finally looks set to land one of his long-term transfer targets.

The Frenchman missed out on Cazorla last summer when he moved to Malaga from Villarreal for €19m. The attacking midfielder helped the club qualify for the champions league for the first time in their history, but it seems he’s set to end his short stay with the club and is on the verge of moving to the Emirates if Sky Sports News are accurate.

can you spell one word in albanian please? tell me you are smarter than me. now listen here, i love Arsenal even i hav never been at the Emirates in my life. i support them from more than 2 thousand kilometers far from north London, and i think this should make me a far better fan and gooner than you ignorant englishman.

Not really, if you were as good a fan as us “ignorant Englishmen” you would travel to see Arsenal play.
He has a point given that a large amount of “fans” giving views online are of the fan-base’s minority and they clearly aren’t too well equipped in terms of the English language and it is frustrating to see as a Gooner. Locale should be pushed aside and forgotten, we are all Gooners and that is what matters.. Just learn how to write in the language of preference…
