Arsenal In Advanced Sahin Talks As Double Swoop Nears Completion

By on August 2, 2012

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsenal close on a sensational double swoop.

Nuri-Sahin-Real-Madrid

Arsenal are closing in on a sensational double swoop for Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin and Malaga star Santi Cazorla, according to the BBC.

As reported on Wednesday, Cazorla is due in London to undergo a medical ahead of a move from Malaga with the 27-year-old believed to be eager to escape the financially troubled La Liga side.

However, the BBC are also reporting that the Gunners are in advanced talks to sign Turkey international Nuri Sahin, with the 23-year-old set to move to north London on a year-long loan.

It’s understood that Madrid are keen for the player to go on loan to gain first team experience and Arsenal are looking to bolster their midfield options following the news that Jack Wilshere could be out of action until the middle of November.

Goal.com claim that boss Arsene would like to have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the year-long loan, but Madrid are not prepared to sanction his sale at this time.

Goal also suggest that Sahin’s proposed move to the Emirates is dependent on the Spanish champions being able to secure a deal for Tottenham’s Luka Modric. The two clubs have so far been unable to agree a fee for the Croatian, but a deal is expected to be go through eventually.

If Arsene can pull off the double signing of Cazorla AND Sahin, it would be stunning business by the Frenchman. To bring in Podolski, Giroud, Sahin and Cazorla would be almost unbelievable for Gooners. How’s that for ‘ambition’ RVP?!

This is just the same old story. Am growing impatient of Carz-Sahin’s eventual arrival and medical. When exactly is their deal scheduled to be wrapped up?
