Mourinho Paves The Way For Sahin To Join Arsenal
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Real Madrid are happy for Nuri Sahin to leave the club.
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has opened the door for Midfielder Nuri Sahin to move to Arsenal, insisting the final decision will rest with the player.
According to Sky Sports , the Turkey international has been strongly linked with a move away from Madrid this summer with Arsenal thought to be in advanced negotiations over a season-long loan deal.
Sahin moved to Real from German side Borussia Dortmund 12 months ago but has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabeu, starting just two games for Jose Mourinho’s side.
The Portuguese coach has claimed the 23-year-old is free to leave the club this summer in order to gain some first team experience elsewhere, as he will find it difficult to get game time with the level of competition at Madrid.
However, Mourinho insists the final decision rests with the player himself. Quoted by Sky Sports, Mourinho said:
“The point is, he’s a young boy, he wants to play every match,”
”He wants to play to be happy, and in Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso, with [Sami] Khedira, with Lassana [Diarra], [Esteban] Granero, [Mesut] Ozil, the situation is not easy.
“Real Madrid is very difficult. It is not an easy club, because we demand a lot. We have great players, and when you don’t start well, it is difficult to do it.
“If he stays, he’s not a problem for me, he’s one more solution. We leave [the situation] in his hands. Be happy.
“Decide what you want to decide, to be happy. If you decide to leave we are going to help you to leave. If you decide to stay, we are going to support you and try to succeed this season.”
So it seems Madrid are happy for Sahin to move to Arsenal and it’d simply down to the player to agree to the move.
Hopefully we’ll see both Sahin and Cazorla lining up in an Arsenal shirt next season, with the Spaniard believed to have completed his medical ahead of a £16m move from Malaga.
