[Video Highlights] Brighton 3-1 Chelsea: Lampard Goal Not Enough For Blues

By on August 4, 2012

Despite naming a virtually full strength side, Chelsea suffered a third straight pre-season defeat after going down 3-1 away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Frank Lampard put the Blues ahead shortly before half time with a trademark late run into the box followed by a fine finish, but Vicente levelled just 2 minutes later.

The home side then took the lead through Ashley Barnes before Andrew Crofts made it 3-1 just before full time. Roberto Di Matteo looks like he has a lot of work to do on the training pitch ahead of next weeks community shield against Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Chelsea team and video highlights are below:

Chelsea team:

Cech (Turnbull 64); Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (David Luiz 60), Cole; Meireles (Mikel h/t), Essien, Lampard; Ramires, Torres (Lukaku 78), Hazard.
