[Video Highlights] Valeranga 0-0 Man Utd: Vidic Returns But United Held

By on August 5, 2012

Manchester United’s pre-season preparations continued on Sunday afternoon as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Valerenga in Norway.

Despite the lack of goals, it was an entertaining affair with both sides going close to breaking the deadlock. It was valuable game-time for the United players but perhaps the most important positive Sir Alex Ferguson can take from the game is the return of skipper Nemanja Vidic, who started and played just over an hour before being replaced by Anderson.

United now head to Gothenburg to play Spanish giants Barcelona. The United team and highlights from the game are below:

Lindegaard; Valencia, Vidic (Anderson 61), Ferdinand, M Keane; Nani, Carrick, Scholes (Powell 75), Young (Lingard 75); Rooney (Chicharito 76), Welbeck (Kagawa 61).

Subs not used: De Gea, Jones, Berbatov, Macheda.
