L’Equipe: Spurs Table €15m Bid For Yann M’Vila

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Tottenham are reported to have bid for Yann M’Vila.

Yann M'Vila

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to beat rivals Arsenal to the signing of Yann M’Vila after making a €15m bid for the midfielder, according to L’Equipe.

The 22-year-old has been subject to intense speculation this summer after an excellent season with Rennes in Lique 1 last campaign.

Arsenal were strongly linked with a move for M’Vila before the European championships with the Telegraph reporting that the Gunners were close to sealing a £17.7m deal for the Frenchman.

However, a transfer has failed to materialise and Arsene Wenger’s interest seems to have cooled in recent weeks, leaving the door open to their north London rivals.

French-based newspaper L’Equipe claim that Tottenham have now made their move for the midfielder after making a €15m offer, as they look to take advantage of Rennes’ difficult financial situation.

New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season but the Portuguese coach may have to up his opening bid, with Rennes said to be holding out for nearer €20m for their star man.

The report comes just days after Rennes Chairman Frederic de Saint-Sernin confirmed the 22-year-old had received an offer from the Premier League:

“He (M’Vila) has a very concrete offer from England,”

Saint-Sernin is quoted as saying by Goal.com

Classic spuds, feeding off the Arsenal rejects.
They wanted Remy and Niang and now M’Villa – all turned down by Arsenal – and they’ve bought/loaned the likes of Bentley, Gallas, Adebayoffside, et al.

    Sad sad little club.

Picking on their names? Oh dear.. And I agree with them, as a neutral fan it’s clear that spurs always seem to go after Arsenals rejects whether ex players or rejected signings. I must say (again as a neutral) spurs seem incredibly bitter and do very much try to copy the gunners in many ways. Just my 2 cents anyway. But that is how most neutral fans feel by the way.

Pffff! Please, not again! I hardly stopped laughing from your comment above 🙂
Arsenal rejects? Rohan Ricketts, Lee Butcher, David Bentley, Manu Adebayor? For the record, the latter two came to WHL by way of other clubs, so how on earth can you claim it’s because we failed to pay them? Sorry, but it’s definitely Totts who are facing problems with payments rather than Arsenal.
Also, have you wondered why Adebayor isn’t at Spurs already? Might it be perhaps because they failed to meet his wage demands? I wonder…

Sol Judas Campbell spring to mind?????? Arsenal fans are really worried about whatever spurs are doing as they ALLWAYS comment on any post we are linked with. We are near enough a match made in heaven now and the ONLY reason you are still getting anywhere near the top 4 is because of your manager and RVP, without those two last year you would of finished about 6th or 7th (that was even mentioned by the likes of Paul Merson and Andy Gray on Talksport) so maybe worry about your team than ours. On another point how come every Arnseal fan says that “holding Luka Modric against his will is unprofressional” bla bla bla, yet your team are still holding out for your valuation of RVP and he does not want to stay. Whats the difference? Exactly there is none. I am not saying we will finish above Arsenal or even in the top 4 but we will be there or thereabouts come MAy and the TRUE arsenal fans and not the plastic ones admit that.

Why do Tottenham always to go for players we either want or wanted? Its actually quite funny. Like the life of a spurs scout.. “Find out who arsenal are looking at and get them at all costs!” what an easy job! lool

People like Arsenal fans make me laugh, lets beleive everything we read in the paper as it must be true. If you do ybeleive everything then you must of read that Spurs were after Cazorla before you so does that mean Arsenal goe after every spurs potential buys??? AVB even said they were not looking at Cazorla but yet it was in the post the next day that Arsenal are now in line to sign him. Ha ha ha what a joke
