Liverpool defender Daniel Agger wants to stay at Anfield but fears the club could still sell him this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The Danish ace has been linked with a big-money move to Manchester City and Barcelona in recent weeks, with the Premier League champions believed to have already had two bids rejected for the defender.

City Roberto Mancini keen to pair Agger with Vincent Kompany next season and Sky Sports suggest that he is ready to launch a third bid this week, with Liverpool reported to be prepared to sell the player in order to raise funds for Brendan Rodgers to strengthen his squad with.

However, Agger says he couldn’t see himself playing for any other Premier League side and insists he wants to remain at Anfield, but fears the club may have other ideas.

When asked about speculation linking him with a move, Agger said:

“No, I haven’t heard anything”

“That is how the club wants to do it. I would prefer to stay.

“I can’t imagine playing for other clubs in England. But, you never know if the club prefers to sell me.”

Agger is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

The central defender has recently had the initials Y.N.W.A, which stands for  ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, tattooed on his knuckles and he’s admitted it’s a gesture aimed towards Liverpool and the fans.

“It has nothing to do with my current situation,” added Agger.

“It is a gesture towards the Kop, towards Liverpool and towards the people around the club.”

Agger is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
