Arsenal look set to miss out on the signing of Kevin Mirallas with the Belgian ace on the verge of moving to Everton, according to the Guardian.

The 24-year-old is set to move to Merseyside from Greek outfit Olympiakos for around £6m after the toffees trigger a release clause in the players contract.

Mirallas is due to play for Belgium against Holland in Brussels tonight but will fly in to the UK for his medical on Thursday with the transfer expected to be completed before the weekend.

Everton have wasted no time in spending some of the £15m they received from the sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City and the addition of Mirallas is sure to add some much-needed firepower to David Moyes side.

The news comes just days after Sky Sports reported that the former Lille forward claimed he was in talks with Arsenal over a possible move to the Emirates.

Asked by Sky Sports News if he had spoken to Arsenal, he replied:

“My manager (has). Me? No.”

He was then asked is a deal may happen, to which he replied:

“Yes, it’s good. Thomas plays very good at Arsenal and now a lot of Belgian players are in the Premier League,”

“(Moving to England) It’s good for me, it’s good for my family and it’s a good opportunity, but I don’t know…it’s possible.”

But it looks like Arsene Wenger has decided not to follow up his interest in the player, and Mirallas is now set to link up with international team mate Marouane Fellaini at Goodison Park next season.

Doesn’t matter. I reckon Arsenals transfers this year are done anyway. Anything else from here would just be a rumour

So, Arsenal has missed out on a player they didn’t want to sign anyway? Right, makes perfectly sense.

what? The hell is loose…we really slept on this one and about to miss out bigtime. I was so upset the first time i read the news of everton landing this player. Well’ good for them…think we are not really planning to sell van persie…we just want to cheese off other clubs by using him as bait till just before transfer window closes and him signing an extension to his contract. Any way and means to put our rivals on the back-foot I guess…I really wanted this player to sign.
