Alvaro-Pereira-Porto

The agent of Chelsea target Alvaro Pereira has denied his preference is a move to the Premier League amid speculation linking him with a move away from Porto.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the Uruguayan this summer as manager Roberto Di Matteo looks to improve his full back options following the departure of Jose Bosingwa.

The 26-year-old enjoyed an excellent season with Porto last campaign and has also attracted interest from Italy, with both Inter Milan and Napoli linked with moves in recent weeks.

Pereira’s agent, Flavio Perchman, has now had his say on the speculation insisting he has received no official offers from any side.

“Inter Milan and Napoli interest? We have not received any official proposals,”

“One day he is on his way to Naples, the next Chelsea. Obviously we are pleased that his name is being linked with big clubs, but at the moment there are no official offers.

Reports have suggested that Pereira prefers a move to Stamford Bridge but Perchman played down those claims, saying that while his client is keen to play for a competitive club at the top level, he has no particular preference between the English or Italian leagues.

“The player prefers the Premier League? I never said anything like that. It is not true and I have not spoken to the Portuguese press about that.

“I think that leagues like the English and Italian ones are possible destinations for Alvaro, but he has no preference. The important thing is that it is a competitive club.”

He is most welcomed cos we really need a right full back in case of the mess we found ourselves against Man. City.
