Van Persie Due In Manchester For Medical After £24m Deal Agreed

Arsenal have confirmed they have finally agreed terms with Manchester United for the sale of striker Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman’s future has filled the back pages for weeks after declaring his intention not to sign a new contract at the Emirates. The likes of Manchester City and Juventus have both been heavily linked but United have won the race for last seasons Premier League top scorer.

The 29-year-old will now head to Old Trafford on Thursday to undergo a medical and agree personal terms. A statement on Arsenal.com read:

Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.

Further updates will feature on Arsenal.com in due course.

The BBC claim United will pay the Gunners £24m for their skipper, who will sign a four-year contract with United and the deal should be completed before the new Premier League season kicks off this Saturday.

We are not winning anything because if back stabbers like this one. He wont replicate what he did last season even at United. At least we will have got rid of another arrogant individual who thinks he is better than our club. There he will neet his match in Fergie who will put him in the forgotten men list like Berba as quick as possible. I know I an bitter about this transfer, and have a feeling that he will even fail the medical which will make matters worse for him.

Note to Ren–you are definitely bitter !!!
So when Players leave Arsenal you label them back stabbers…but when players come to Arsenal what label do you attach?…Name more than 2 players that started their careers at Arsenal that are on the field at the same time…hard isn’t it and yes, in your small little myopic world, these players ‘back stabbed the clubs that Arsenal purchased them from..It really is that simple Ren my friend…You can’t have it both ways…Nooooo, you can’t

Correct. And it is not realistic to expect players to be long term loyal … if they were not born near Holloway Road or have not always been Gunner fans. All you can expect is that in return for their ludicrously high wages … they do their best while with us. Most of them have.

RVP is an excellent player but Man. Utd. may well regret spending some £65m in total over 4 years. He will be worth nothing by then and may get injured meanwhile. Remember he has had one great season out of the last five !!

Are Manchester United/Chelsea “buying” the league. Why can they buy players for 25/35/45 million without the press going nuts about buying the league. Fair play should take into account that United are spending way above their means, first they should clear the 350 mil they owe before they should be allowed to spend.
