[Teams] Arsenal vs Sunderland: Confirmed Line-ups

Arsenal start the new Premier League season with a home tie against Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Summer signings Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski make their debuts, while Olivier Giroud has to make do with a place on the bench. Per Mertesacker comes in for the injured Laurant Koscielny.

Alex Song is left out with ‘a knock’ amid reports he could be on the verge of a move to Barcelona, Abou Diaby comes in.

Arsenal Team:

Szczesny, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Diaby, Arteta, Walcott, Cazorla, Podolski, Gervinho.

Subs: Mannone, Djourou, Coquelin, Santos, Ramsey, Arshavin, Giroud.

Sunderland Team:

Mignolet, Gardner, Richardson, O’Shea, Cuellar, Larsson, McClean, Cattermole, Colback, Sessegnon, Campbell.

Subs: Wickham, Kilgallon, Meyler, Bramble, Saha, Elmohamady, Westwood.

    It’s so sad to one of our own is now on Man U shirt and to add the salt into the injury,he was the best asset for us and our hit man. How can u let ur best sniper n a hitman joins ur enemy? I wonder! Anyway, what happened has happened. I thnk this c’son Wenger is doing gud job n bring in new expirienced faces, hope it will yeald a gud result this c’son n let respect our team,our manager and our players n support them no matter their form and condition. Wish our new team gud luck n God blessing.
