The first ‘Super Sunday’ of the new season didn’t disappoint as Chelsea struck two early goals to beat Wigan 2-0 at the DW Stadium and Man City came from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 at the Etihad.

New signing Eden Hazard set up Branislav Ivanovic for the opener after just 2 minutes. The Belgian then won a penalty with Frank Lampard making no mistake from the spot for 2-0. Watch highlights from the game here:

Man City 3-2 Southampton

Champions City took the lead through Tevez only for subs Lambert and Davies to put the newly promoted Saints 2-1 ahead. But Mancini’s men came storming back and won it through goals from Dzeko and Nasri. Watch highlights from the game here:
