Wenger: I Want To Sign Two More

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is hoping to add two new players to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

The Gunners confirmed after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland that the Club had agreed to sell midfielder Alex Song to Barcelona, with the 24-year-old now in Spain to undergo a medial and is expected to complete the move in the next 24 hours.

Despite being able to call upon the services of Abou Diaby again and Jack Wilshere is also due back in around 6 weeks time, Wenger has revealed he wants to sign a new midfielder as well as a defender in the coming days.

Wenger told Arsenal.com.

“We are looking to bring one more midfielder in of course, and maybe one defender as well because we still feel we are short in some positions,” he told Arsenal Player.

The Club have been strongly linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin, but the Turkish international can hardly be described as a ‘defensive midfielder’ so can’t be considered a like-for-like replacement for Alex Song.

If Sahin is the only midfielder brought in this summer, it will be interesting to see how the Gunners line up and who is given the defensive duties in the sides midfield, as there is no real regonised defensive midfielder in the squad at present.

Personally, i would also like to see long-term target Yann M’Vila come in as well but that seems unlikely unless someone like Ramsey or Coquelin goes out on loan.

wat the f is wrong with wenger.y shd u sell song.then instead of going 4 sahin, or a defender.go in 4 a defensive midfielder like m villa.let sahin deal be an added advantage. 4 the summer signing as was the case of yossi last season.mvila will provide deffensive options, creativity and a versatile role

never does he openly admit he is after a player in a positions, this is very unusual of wenger goin public with the sort of players he wants, i expect him to go out and sign 2 cms, a defender and im still hopeful he is after a striker aswell, arsenal must have already signed a player or 2 for him to say this

we play 4231 thats 4 defenders, 2 holding midfielders, 3 attacking midfielders and 1 striker.

if sahin joins, arteta, diaby, ramsey, wilshire, coquelin, frimpong, eastmond, yennaris, henderson, aneke i think that is more than enough players for 2 positions.

i know everyone wants a true defensive midfielder, but i am not sure that wenger wants to play with that type of player.

i know we have signed cazorla, but i still think our attacking midfield options are limited. walcott, cazorla gervinho appear to be the first choice 3, with chamberlain, rosicky and arshavin as the back up, but after that we are looking at lansbury & eisfeld, as the only ones that are near ready.

i personally dont think that is enough and along with bendtner, park and chamakh seemingly on their way out, i would be trying to swap one of those 3 with dempsey, who can play as a lone striker or all across the attacking midfield.

we also need another defender to replace squillaci

Listen Zane my lad, I dont know who you think you are but I have read a lot of blogs and decided that we need Llorente & M’viilla and besides I won the league for 29 straight seasons on fm 2010 so, ahem, I think I know what i’m talking about as i’m sure you will agree, that is quite an achievement.

Besides I see Arsenal play on the TV at least 10 times a year so thats cool yeah?

wats wrong wit wenger,we also need a striker dat is sharp and right footed,my best choice will be demsey dat is used to d epl.demsey for godsake will be a great addition to d club, even better than ramsey, chamk, bendntr in d club.wenger needs to change d formation to 4-4-2(yenn,jenkn,coq,sagna/mert,kos-verm,gibbs,santos/gerv,arteta,ca orla,walcot/giroud,podki or arshavin. or 4-4-1-1.(yenn,jenk,coq/mert,kos-verm,gibbs,santos/gerv,arteta,cazorla,walcot/giroud,podki,arshavin. Dis season wenger needs to play two attackers of front.wat stopped him playin two strikers against sunderland.Age is against wenger,he is losin ideals of d game.how can u play a team using 4-3-3, when d opponent used 4-5-1 formation.if wenger had used 4-4-2 formation it will have been a threat.

If Arsenal sell their strikers Bendtner, park, chamackh we will look to bring a replacement but as it stands all we need is a midfielder (sahin) and like wenger said a defender possibly a left back (Richardson, m’begue) . Replacement striker has to be someone who will make a much bigger impact then park, chamackh had. Personnally I would like to see Loic Remy join as he is top quality, we can possibly use Park, Bendtner, Chamackh as make weights in the deal.

with the talent thats walked out arsenals door in recent seasons what your going to need to retain any relevence in the division is a miracle,as things stand with arsenal existing as a feeder club you lot have no business even dreaming of a championship team, get real

I think that wenger should sign sahin and a versatile defender who can play across the back four. But who am I to judge let wenger do what he he wants. In arsene we trust.
