Arsenal Reach Sahin Agreement

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsenal look to have finally agreed a deal to sign Nuri Sahin.

Nuri-Sahin-Real-Madrid

Arsenal have finally struck a deal with Real Madrid to sign Nuri Sahin on a season long loan, according to Sky Sports News.

The Gunners were locked in negotiations with Madrid officials on Monday with the sticking point believed to be whether Arsenal would be allowed the option to buy the Turkish international at the end of his year-long loan stay.

Sky Sports report that an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs, but fails to establish whether Arsenal have managed to get the option to buy that they desired. The only thing left is for the player to give the official go-ahead and the transfer can be completed this week.

Sahin has struggled to establish himself at the Bernabeu since joining Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer and made only a handful of appearances last campaign.

Boss Jose Mourinho gave the playmaker permission to leave Madrid this summer in order to gain first team experience elsewhere, and he was soon heavily touted with a move to the Premier League.

Liverpool have also been linked with the 23-year-old but the player has always favoured a move to a team offering champions league football, and it seems he has got his wish with a move to the Emirates awaiting.

The Daily Mail go one step further to suggest the move is now complete after the two clubs reached  a compromise over a £14m buy-out clause and claims the player has already given the green light to making the move to the Emirates.

Either way, it looks like the Sahin deal is all but secured and should be officially announced shortly. As ever, we’ll keep you updated.

Personally, i think he’ll prove to be a great addition to the squad but i do feel we still need and out-and-out defensive midfielder to compliment the more creative players. M’Vila would be my preferred choice, but i can’t see Arsene signing two midfielders unless someone else is leaving.

    and please sell Diaby.

    • MJ

      August 22, 2012 at 6:06 pm

Yes, please sell Diaby. I don’t understand what Wenger sees in him. He never does anything truly positive in the attack and I don’t see him breaking up plays on the defense. He is a waste of space.

Diaby is good player, what to do is to let Ramsy 4 long loan and yann mvila in.

Great supporters you people are,I feel relieved whenever I’m Arsenal site. Please keep the spirit.
I agree with the motion that says “loan Ramsey to a premiership club” to gain more experience also park shouldn’t be sold,he should be loan to a premiership club as well. Players like Squllachi,Djourou, and the tired ones should be shown the exit door to reduce the wages at the club. Tiote or M’Villa will be a better replacement for Song.
    Gunners till I fade off.

Kudos to Arsene Wenger, 2 more signing and Arsenal will be challenging for all Trophies this season. We need M’villa nomatter he’s a trouble maker outside pitch. Then Mexes, in exchange for Bentdner. If Theo Walcott, does not want to sign a new contract then sale him and replace him with Victor Moses or Jesus Navas. Any player that does not want to extend his contract should leave the Emirate door PERIOD. Gunners till i die.

All of us who write this are not even fit to lace Wenger’s shoes in terms of football knowledge. Unlike Van Persie who had one year to run on his Arsenal contract, Song had three, but Wenger let him go because he saw it right, and I’m sure he had a replacement in mind.

He knows Sahin more than all of us, having tracked him when he was still 15 and knows exactly why he wants to sign him. He also knows that Song is a different player to Sahin, but it is the Turk that he has gone for, not M’vila, not Capoue, not Biglia, not Wanyama, not any other DM. He knows why.

It may hurt you my fellow Gooners, but, NO DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER WILL COME TO ARSENAL THIS SUMMER, because he promised to bring in one more midfielder and one defender, and Sahin is neither a striker nor a defender, he’s a midfielder! If you ask me why,(this is my opinion)
Arsenal already has Coquelin, Frimpong, Arteta (who Wenger has converted into a DM), and Jack Wilshere who played the Arteta role to perfection the previous season.

Finally, Gooners, it is well documented that Carzola and Arshavin are Arsenal’s costliest players to date, and they cost around 15m each. To Wenger, such money buys playmakers, and strikers not defensive midfielders or defenders, because no defender or D/M has ever been bought for more than 11m. Do you really think Wenger/Arsenal can sanction a move for a D/M who would cost over 15m? Really? Never, I’m afraid!

But, Gooners, take heart, Wenger played Coquelin in Arsenal’s most important game of the season-against Westbromwich Albion, and in all the pre-season games Arsenal played in the off-season, outlining his faith in the young Frenchman. He, I believe, is the one to replace Song, not M’vila!!!

  23. sahin

    August 22, 2012 at 9:50 pm

I think for my opinion I will refer m’vila to sahin because I am after a defensive midfielder than an attacking one and m’vila best occupy that position.
