Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is set to leave the club on loan this summer with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham interested in signing him, according to the Metro.

The Dutchman has endured a difficult time at the Nou Camp since joining the club from PSV, making only a handful of starts during an injury-plagued 18 months in Spain.

The attacker was expecting to feature on a more regular basis this season after finally getting himself back to full fitness. However, the 26-year-old has been told he’s not in new boss Tito Vilanova’s first team plans and is free to leave the club on loan this summer.

The Metro claim Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in signing him and the players agent, Rob Jansen, has confirmed his client will secure a loan move this week and has concrete interest from England.

‘I expect Afellay to leave Barcelona on loan before the transfer window closes,’

‘Talks are ongoing with several clubs. He has concrete interest from England. But it all depends on Barcelona, though. They decide where their players are going.’

Hello everyone. I forgot to mention though if you come to the gooners, don’t expect to win any trophies. Seven years and counting. Or is that eight ? Players win trophies when they leave. Is the red carpet still missing from the trophie room? I hear there was a break in.

Affelay is a very player and I would be glad to see him at Liverpool but I very much doubt that’s going to happen with sahin , asiadi and sterling now all fighting for places in our starting 11. I have a feeling were be getting Dempsey on Friday too. If we don’t get him I think Affelay would fit in well at Arsenal or spurs. If I was to guess I’d say he’s off to arsenal

He went to Barcelona for 3m pounds and now Barcelona are demanding 4m just to loan him? Great piece of business for Barca but stupid move for anyone who indeed gets him on loan.
