Tottenahm have been dealt a huge blow with the news that defender Younes Kaboul will be out of action for 4 months after undergoing knee surgery.

The 26-year-old missed this summers European championships with a knee injury but recovered in time to play against Newcaslte United on the opening weekend of the season.

However, the Frenchman tweaked the injury and was forced to undergo surgery this week. Kaboul confirmed the surgery was a success and revealed he’s now focused on his rehabilitation, before claiming he will be out for 4 months.

Kaboul confirmed the news on his official Twitter account, Tweeting:

“Morning all, surgery done with success..Now looking forward for my rehab.I thank you all for your great support as usual!#comingbackstronger

Sorry I forgot to mention how long……Should be 4 months”

The news must now put question marks over the future of Michael Dawson. The 28-year-old was expected to leave the club this month but Andre Villas-Boas must now be seriously considering keeping hold of the defender in the wake of Kaboul’s injury, unless the Portuguese coach is planning on bringing in a new centre back?
