Hulk Completes €50m Zenit Move

Hulk

Chelsea have missed out on long-term target Hulk after the Brazilian striker completed a move to Zenit St Petersburg on Monday.

The powerful forward has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the past 12 months with the player himself admitting he was keen on a move to the Premier League.

A move to the European champions looked a forgone conclusion at one point in the summer but the Blues were unable to reach an agreement with Porto before the British transfer window slammed shut on Friday night and it appeared Hulk would remain in Portugal until at least January.

However, the Russian transfer window remains open and champions Zenit St Petersburg have taken advantage of the lack of competition to snap up one of the most highly-rated strikers in Europe.

Sky Sports News report that the 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Zenit paying over €50million (£39.6m) for the player.

Hulk has been a huge success at Porto since making the move in 2008, scoring an incredible (excuse the pun) 134 goals in just 157 games for the club.

Just last week Porto president Pinto da Costa claimed the club had rejected an offer worth around €50m from Zenit for the striker, but it appears the two clubs have now been able to agree a deal after the Russians confirmed the news on their official website on Monday evening.

Sometime’s i wonder if Chelsea know what dey do and most times i feel gutted when comments are full of people suggesting who and who we should sign and who we shouldn’t, seriously this players you want cost millions of euro and pounds, not hundreds not thousands but millions, the media linked chelsea to hulk, am not sure chelsea wanted him, it took chelsea only one week to sign oscar and once hazard decided to join chelsea it only took them days to complete the deal. Maybe zenit thinks hulk is worth £40 million but i dont think he is and am also sure chelsea taught the same, we taught torres was initially worth £50 million but coincedentally taylor fletcher has scored more goals than torres for two seasons now, *am just saying* yes falcao is worth £50 million cos within the last three seasons only ronaldo and messi have scored more goals than him but still not sure if chelsea would be willing to pay that much for him especially di mateo see how long it took him to sign azpi and moses, so lets just wait and see, if we get him fine if not we manage what we have have, if fans don’t like it they can always raise £50 million and sign him themselves, am very sure the chelsea board would’t oppose a very king donation and a harmless gesture from the chelsea faithful.

wot on earth were d chelsea executives thinking wen dey sold meirelles… He is d only effective holding midfielder, compared to lamps, mikel, romeu. I’m really dissappointed, mikel is avery poor maker of d ball, lamps is just getting old, and its very evident, yet chelsea go ahead to comfortably sell meirelles… Well lets keep hoping tins turn out for d better!
